Introduction
Cittadela 21 is a 4-bedroom residence designed for the new prestigious Cittadela development. The home is conceived as a set of pure horizontal volumes that float over lush gardens, balancing privacy from the street with a completely open social core towards the pool and backyard. Tall ceilings, large panes of glass and controlled views turn everyday life into a calm, resort-like experience.
Role
At FORMM we took on both the architectural design and visualization of Cittadela 21, ensuring that the spatial concept, the material palette and the atmosphere perceived in the first sketch are carried intact all the way to the finished home.
Highlights
Framed Façade & Screened Volumes:
The main elevation is defined by two strong white frames that wrap the ground and upper floors, contrasted by a dark perforated skin that filters light and views. This lattice element creates privacy for the bedrooms while allowing air to flow and night lighting to paint subtle patterns across the façade.
Indoor–Outdoor Living Core:
Towards the garden, the house opens completely with full-height sliding glass, connecting kitchen, dining, living and terrace in a single continuous platform around the pool. A cantilevered upper volume shades the deck and creates a protected outdoor living room where daily life spills naturally to the exterior.
Warm Minimal Interiors & Natural Materials:
Inside, the language is clean and restrained: warm wood cabinetry, neutral stone floors and light walls provide a soft backdrop for art and furniture. The goal is not to overwhelm, but to create a calm canvas where textures, light and views to vegetation become the main protagonists.
Private Green Moments:
Beyond the social areas, bedrooms are conceived as personal retreats. The master suite opens onto a private garden patio, blurring the limit between interior and landscape and bringing filtered natural light into the space throughout the day.
Lighting, Water & Atmosphere:
Artificial lighting is layered to highlight façades, vegetation and key interior planes, while the pool acts as a reflector, projecting moving light onto soffits and ceilings at night. This combination gives the house a distinct character after sunset and reinforces the experiential quality of each space.
Sustainability & Usability:
The layout favors cross-ventilation and shaded terraces to reduce direct heat gain, while the roof and technical spaces are prepared to receive future solar arrays and water management systems. Circulations are simple and efficient, and service areas are tucked away yet easily accessible, keeping daily use practical without sacrificing elegance.
