Introduction
Casa RC is a spiritual and community center in Mérida designed for Regnum Christi. The program brings together a sanctuary and chapel, an auditorium, coworking and study areas, and a café — a place designed for both quiet contemplation and vibrant community life, where faith, work, and gathering coexist under one architectural language.
Role
FORMM developed the full architectural design and visualization of the center, shaping each space around its emotional register: serenity in the sanctuary, energy in the communal areas, and warmth in the café and coworking spaces.
Highlights
The sanctuary as heart: The chapel and sanctuary anchor the composition, with light and proportion handled to create a naturally contemplative atmosphere the moment you step inside.
A center that works all day: Auditorium, coworking, and café mean the building never sits empty — it functions as a true community hub between services, not just a place of worship.
Universal accessibility: Circulation was designed to be fully accessible, with ramps integrated as sculptural elements of the architecture rather than afterthoughts.
One language, many moods: A single material and formal palette ties spaces with very different uses into one coherent, recognizable identity.
